Football - Beach Soccer

Beach soccer is a sport similar to football and is played on sand. It pits two teams of five players, with frequent substitutions, against each other on a pitch about three times smaller than that of a football pitch. Beach soccer has only been officially recognised by FIFA bodies since the end of the 2000s, and is no longer considered a leisure activity for holidaymakers. It's a discipline in its own right, recognised and increasingly in the media spotlight, now with its own World Cup. This sport owes its success to the fact that at a high level it is intense and spectacular, with a high number of goals and acrobatic moves.
