Investment subsidies

Subsidies for small private infrastructures (PIP)

Eligibility? Brussels sports clubs

Institution concerned? French Community Commission (CoCoF)

For what? Support for sports clubs to finance their construction work whose amounts are equal to or less than €165,000 including VAT. The rate of subsidy is a maximum of 50% of the total amount, i.e. a maximum of €82,500.

Local municipal infrastructure

Eligibility? Brussels municipalities

Institution concerned? Brussels Local Authorities (BPL)

For what? Annual call for projects for the creation or renovation of local municipal sports facilities (fitness equipment in parks, fitness tracks, jogging tracks, petanque courts, multi-sports fields, etc.). They must be close to where people live and freely accessible, i.e. open to all in a neighbourhood. The basic subsidy rate is 75%, several criteria may increase it to 100%.

Communal infrastructures

Eligibility? Brussels municipalities

Institution concerned? Brussels Local Authorities (BPL)

For what? Triennial call for projects that enable:

  • The construction, extension, renovation and acquisition of outdoor sports fields, swimming pools, sports halls or playgrounds for sports;
  • The construction, extension, renovation and acquisition of buildings essential for their use (changing rooms, toilets, equipment storage, grandstands and terraces, cafeterias, etc.);
  • The construction, extension and renovation of their surroundings (lighting, fences, etc.);
  • The acquisition of the initial sports equipment necessary for operating the facilities;
  • The construction of technical facilities relating to safety, information and accessibility for users, in particular people with reduced mobility;
  • The costs of studies, development or technical tests actually carried out and which were a necessary precondition for the above mentioned investments

The basic subsidy rate is 50% and may be increased up to 100% according to certain criteria (neighbourhood lacking infrastructure according to the sports registry, accessibility for people with disabilities, etc.).

Investment subsidies for sports facilities

Eligibility? A non profit making association or public institution

Institution concerned? The Vlaamse Gemeenschapscommisie (VGC)

For what? Subsidy for the purchase of a building or land, new construction, execution of works or purchase of fixed and mobile (sports) equipment. The equipment purchased must be durable and be considered part of the long-term infrastructure

Beliris

Eligibility? Sports organisations and public institutions

Institution concerned? Beliris

For what? Support for the construction and renovation of major infrastructure with an impact on the influence of Brussels as the capital of Belgium and Europe.

Beliris receives its tasks from the Cooperation Committee, composed of 6 federal and 6 regional ministers who consult together on the initiatives to be taken. You can submit your idea to your municipal administration, which in turn can pass it on to this committee.

Operating subsidies

Subsidies to sports clubs

Eligibility? Brussels sports clubs

Institution concerned? French Community Commission (CoCoF)

For what? Support in operating costs. The subsidy is proportional to the number of training hours per week for clubs that train collectively, or whose training is competition oriented.  The activities shall have to be organised mainly by French-speaking NPOs with their headquarters in Brussels and are aimed more particularly at a French-speaking public.

Local Sport Action Subsidy

Eligibility? Sports federations, recreational sports federations, sports associations recognised by the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, sports clubs affiliated to a sports federation recognised by the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, (integrated) local sports centres, municipal administrations or municipal non-profit making organisations

For what? Subsidy for the organisation of sport modules and programmes for the promotion and development of sport. Four priority areas: integration of vulnerable young people, women's sport, "adapted" activities in sports clubs for able-bodied people, and sports activities for older people

For what? Subsidy to support the operating costs of Dutch-speaking sports organisations.

For what? Subsidy to support associations that are starting up and offering safe sport, with proper equipment and affordable prices for vulnerable groups.

As part of the promotion of the national and international image of the Brussels-Capital Region, the aim of this annual call for projects is to support sports clubs working with young people and associations with projects that strengthen urban dynamism and the quality of life in the Region through sport.

For what? Support for activities aimed at promoting sport, combating social exclusion, health and senior citizens, education and fair play but also for activites aimed at encouraging new sports activities for people with disabilities.

"Project Subsidies"

Eligibility? An association without any legal status, a non profit making organisation, a public institution, an individual acting without profit motive

  • Increasing the social aspect of sport
  • Achieving high performance sporting goals
